Work health and safety

DRAFT — condensed from the legacy 101ed site, pending RTO-compliance and legal review. See docs/COPY-REVIEW.md.

As a Registered Training Organisation, 101 Education Pty Ltd has a legal duty of care to work within work health and safety (WHS) legislation, our own codes of practice, and our WHS management standards.

Duty of care

Duty of care requires us to provide a safe work, learning and assessment environment; safe systems, plant and equipment; and clear communication about safety requirements, hazards, and the supervision, instruction and training needed to work and study safely.

Scope of WHS obligations

Our WHS obligations cover risk management and consultation for all workplaces and learning environments, control of common hazards, control of specific higher-risk activities, and compliance with licensing, permit and notification requirements where applicable.

Sharing information

We aim to communicate WHS information, explanations and procedures clearly, assess risk before undertaking a task, and consult with everyone involved so they can contribute to a safer outcome.

Face-to-face delivery

Where a course includes face-to-face delivery, we address WHS matters with participants at the start of delivery — including facilities, amenities, and emergency evacuation procedures — as required under Australian WHS laws.
